FAQ
The questions we get asked most, answered properly. If yours is not here, email bersamllc@gmail.com.
Ordering and delivery
How long will my order take?
Smaller items — planters, lighting, tools, textiles — ship by parcel. Larger pieces such as dining sets, sectionals and pergolas ship by freight and take longer, because the carrier calls to arrange a delivery window first. Current estimates for both are on our Shipping Policy page.
What does freight delivery actually involve?
The carrier contacts you to book a window rather than simply turning up. Service levels vary — kerbside, threshold, or room of choice — and the one that applies is confirmed when your delivery is booked. For heavy pieces, plan to have a second person available.
My order arrived in two deliveries. Is something missing?
Almost certainly not. Orders combining parcel and freight items ship separately and often arrive days apart. Each shipment has its own tracking.
Where do you ship?
Within the United States. The destinations available to you are shown at checkout.
Assembly
Do I have to build it myself?
It depends on the piece, and we tell you on every product page — look for the Assembly line near the top, which gives an estimated time. Most seating is straightforward with the hardware supplied. Larger structures such as pergolas are a bigger job and genuinely need two people.
Are tools included?
Where a product ships with the hardware it needs, that is noted in its specifications. Larger structures generally assume you have a drill.
Materials and weather
Can I leave furniture outside all year?
Aluminium and teak, yes. PE wicker and wood last considerably longer if covered through winter. Cushions and textiles should always come indoors. Every product page carries a weather rating that tells you exactly which category it falls into.
My teak is turning grey. Is it damaged?
No — that is teak doing what teak does. Its natural oils keep resisting rot regardless of colour. Left alone it settles into a soft silver over about two seasons. If you prefer the honey tone, an annual sealer holds it. Full guidance is on our Care & Maintenance page.
The copper lights have gone green.
Also expected, and the reason we use solid copper rather than plated. Plated finishes flake; solid copper patinas and looks better for it. A copper cleaner will bring it back to bright if you want that.
Will the cushion fabric fade?
Solution-dyed fabrics hold colour far better than printed ones, because the colour is added to the fibre before it is spun rather than applied to the surface. Check the specifications on the individual product for what it uses. Shade extends the life of any outdoor fabric.
Choosing
How do I know it will fit?
Every listing carries full dimensions near the top of the page. For seating groups, measure your space and mark the footprint with tape before ordering — outdoor furniture is consistently larger in reality than it looks in a photograph.
I have a small balcony. Is anything suitable?
Quite a lot. Our Small Space & Balcony collection gathers folding, stacking, and rail-mounted pieces with narrow footprints — including a bar set that is sixteen inches deep.
Do cushions come with the furniture?
Where cushions are included it says so in the specifications. Replacement and additional cushions are sold separately under Decor.
Returns and warranty
What is your return window?
Set out in full on our Refund & Return Policy page, along with condition requirements and how to start a return.
Who pays return shipping?
If an item arrived damaged, faulty, or was not what you ordered, we cover it entirely. For change-of-mind returns, see the Refund & Return Policy — freight items are handled differently to parcels because return freight costs considerably more.
Something arrived damaged.
Photograph the item and its packaging and contact us as soon as you can. We will replace the piece or the affected part at no cost. If it is a freight delivery, note the damage on the receipt before the driver leaves — that makes the carrier claim much faster.
Is there a warranty?
Yes, against structural defects in materials and workmanship. Terms are on the Refund & Return Policy page. Normal weathering — silvering, patina, gradual fading — is material behaviour rather than a defect and is not covered.
